A Smarter Approach to Prediabetes for Women in Perimenopause

Beverly Mazza, BSN, RN, NC-BC, is a Registered Nurse, Board-Certified Nurse Coach, and Integrative Metabolic Health Specialist who supports perimenopausal and menopausal women with prediabetes in improving blood sugar control, optimizing weight health, and navigating the unique challenges of midlife metabolism. She combines her nursing background with functional medicine, holistic coaching, advanced continuous glucose monitor (CGM) data interpretation, GLP-1 optimization, nutrition, mindset and mindfulness to create personalized strategies that address the unique metabolic challenges of midlife women.

As the founder of  Purely Present Health, she offers individualized coaching, corporate wellness programs, workshops, and signature services like the Blood Sugar Breakthrough Strategy Session, CGM Empowerment Package, and 90-day Blood Sugar Balance Blueprint. Bev is known for her compassionate, evidence-informed approach that empowers women to make meaningful, lasting changes.

She is also the founder of the Integrative Health Speaker Series in Westborough, MA—a community-driven initiative focused on women’s health through an integrative and functional lens. The series brings together trusted experts and community members for meaningful conversations that bridge conventional care with root-cause, lifestyle-focused approaches. In addition to in-person panels, the series offers virtual spotlight sessions to expand access and continue building a supportive, informed community.

A Personal Note:
My passion for metabolic health comes from years of nursing and seeing how often women, especially in perimenopause and menopause, were told to “watch and wait” for symptoms to resolve, or lab markers to improve, or given vague advice like “just eat healthy and exercise.”

While conventional care is valuable, it often doesn’t go far enough to address root causes or support the real-life changes women are trying to make. I wanted to offer something different, an approach that combines clinical insight with personalized, compassionate guidance.

Outside of my practice, I’m a lifelong animal lover (both dogs and cats), mom of two teenagers, and someone who practices mindfulness, loves a slow and quiet morning, a good cup of tea and a square of dark chocolate, and deep, meaningful conversations.

I believe health should feel empowering, not overwhelming, and that starts with understanding what’s really going on in your body.
