Women and Menopause: Sleep and the Impact of GLP-1s (Ozempic) in Midlife

September 30 @ 12:00 pm - 12:50 pm

GLP-1 medications are changing the conversation around midlife health. For many women, they offer a new path to weight loss and metabolic support. But prescriptions alone cannot solve the full picture. When stress, trauma, disrupted sleep, hormonal changes, and emotional eating go unaddressed, the deeper causes of weight gain remain unresolved. And when GLP-1s are tapered or stopped, women often face rebound hunger, weight regain, and emotional distress – unless those root causes have been cared for.

Sleep is one of the most overlooked regulators of metabolism and mood. Without restorative rest, hormonal balance falters, nervous systems stay wired, and women struggle to feel steady, focused, and resilient. True midlife health requires addressing both metabolic drivers and sleep regulation in an integrative, compassionate way.

This event brings together two trusted voices to offer a whole-person perspective. Dr. Joelle Chateauneuf and Jennifer Patenaude will discuss the often overlooked drivers of weight, metabolism, and mood. We will explore the risks and benefits of GLP-1 medications, the hidden impacts of poor sleep, and practical tools to restore balance from the inside out.

You Will Discover:

• Root causes of midlife weight gain: stress, trauma, sleep disruption, hormonal shifts, and emotional eating.

• The benefits, risks, and long-term effects of GLP-1s—including what happens when stopping them.

• How hypnotherapy, paired with movement and nutrition, can support lasting change.

• Why sleep is essential to hormone regulation, metabolism, and mood.

• Practical ways to calm the nervous system and improve sleep habits, routines, and environments.

Who This is for:

About the Speakers:

Dr. Joelle Chateauneuf, DNP, FNP-BC, BCH, CECP
Family Nurse Practitioner, Founder of Empower Health and Wellness
With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Joelle Chateauneuf is experienced blending conventional medicine with functional and lifestyle approaches. She will cover the benefits and limitations of GLP-1s, their side effects, and what women need to know when coming off these medications. She will share how hypnotherapy can rewire habits, calm stress responses, and rebuild body trust, and how pairing it with movement, anti-inflammatory nutrition, and nervous system support creates lasting results. Her work emphasizes that midlife health is not just about weight loss. It’s about energy, confidence, resilience, and metabolic freedom.

Jennifer Patenaude
Sleep and Wellness Coach, Found of Jennifer Eve Wellness
Jennifer helps midlife women restore their energy, focus, and resilience by making sleep a non-negotiable part of health. She will explore how stress hormones and neurotransmitters – especially the brain’s “on” switch (glutamate) and “off” switch (GABA) – affect women’s ability to rest. She will highlight how daily habits, evening routines, and sleep environments shape the nervous system’s ability to wind down, and share practical adjustments that restore balance. Jen will offer strategies to soothe the nervous system, realign biological rhythms, and create sustainable, restorative sleep.
